Evidence shows that ABCC4 has very important roles in the pharmacogenetics of cancer33; for example, in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-1393C and A934C [Lys304Asn] polymorphisms)34 and with cyclophosphamide-induced adverse drug reactions in patients with breast cancer (rs9561778).35 Among the 63 tag-SNPs analyzed from ABCC4 in our study, rs1729786 was found to be significantly associated with OS of LS-NSCLC; similar to rs3768490, rs1729786 is intronic, and its functional significance needs to be further elucidated.
